Hey ppl. I'm considering a new filter for my Rio 180 that I've just managed to fill with water (knackered now!) Looking at the included juwel filter, I'm not overly impressed so I've been hunting out a replacement.

Now, funds are unfortunately short after spending all the money on this thing but I think this needs to be bought. The tetratec EX700 sounds like the ideal filter and I've been hunting for the cheapest price I can find which is £59.90 with free shipping, from Leicester Aquatics.

Can anyone find it anywhere cheaper (including shipping price)?

Thanks! :good:

Cheapest by far, you no longer need to search. Free delivery too. Someone gave me this a while ago because im planning to get the EX600 and it sure beats competitors by at least 10. I ordered some coconut caves from them, i think all their stuff come from germany but its still quick delivery.

Ace! Thanks. Stupidly I was looking on that site earlier for something else! :D

Ordered :D Hopefully be here end of next week. Means more cycling but hey ho :) As it was my first order I got an additional £3 off making the total £46.99 inc postage :)

The manual states that you can turn down the 'out' valve when you feed your fish, but it doesn't say whether you can turn it down for longer periods. Either way, you get a very decent spray bar, which cuts down the power of the return flow. You won't be sorry you bought this filter. Remember that you don't need to replace the media every month like they tell you. I would change the very top white sponge every two months, though, as it gets rather ragged. They're only £4 for a box of two, so they're still cheap - you'll get two months use out of each one. Oh, another thing; when you get it, take out the carbon bag. You'll only need it when removing medication, so take it out before you start and replace it with an extra biofilter sponge (the black one).

Okay. Thanks for that info, there shouldnt really be any harm in having it turned down all the time so i think iv made my mind up, im getting the EX600 because it looks like a good piece of equipment and theres been loads of good reviews, plus its cheap as chips on zoo plus :D Although not in stock til the 30th or something.

Thanks again
