Tetra Ex Filter Carbon Shud I?

Hi

I have just replanted my tank but its made my water milky is it ok to use the carbon pouch I got with my new filter Tetra ex600? I dunno if it will affect the plants as in take stuff out the water they need? yet the milky white stuff looks terrible I already did a big water change today but its still there!

If it is milky due to particles in the water then carbon won't help, you'd be better off with some filter wool or similar as this is good for removing fine particles. Give it a while to settle though, it should disappear on its own.

Activated carbon shouldnt be used in the planted tank.
