Hi Everyone,
I've had my Roma 125 set up for nearly two months now, current stocking has 5 Cardinal Tetras and 3 Otocinclus. I'm gradually building up the bio load so the plan is to have around 10 Cardinals and then 8-10 Glowlights. I cycled the tank with ghost feeding and Fritz Zyme.
The Otos were added last weekend and I tested the water today (API master test kit) ahead of a water change and the results have been quite surprising. 0s across the board for Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate. The Otos are quite high bio load fish for their size, and I definitely expected to see some Nitrates.
I do have three plants in the tank that have experience quite good growth, would it be normal for them to completely consume the nitrates? Just looking for reassurance that this isn't completely odd, thanks in advance for your help!
