35 days into my fish in cycle.

just did a 70% wc

ammonia 0
nirtite 0
nitrate 5-10

but i guess i am still cycling

I think by those readings the cycling has finished. Oh and dont do a 70% water change just do 25% a week. As by doing a 70% water change is quite a shock to the fish.

but those resluts were only taken about an hour after the water change, and i have not seen any nitrite readings yet

when nearing the end of a cycle this is perfectly safe, at anytime its quite safe

yes ignore the advice on small water changes, it's incorrect. it's perfectly safe to do large water changes, in a fish-in cycle the danger of ammonia or nitrite greatly outweighs any potential shock from a large water change.

one snapshot of test results (especialyl straight after a water change) does not really give us enough info to say where you are, have you got results from before your water change and over a couple of days would be best.

yeah for the last 36 days i have had high ammonia, no nitrite and about 10 nitrate

ok after 26 days i would expect ammonia to be holding at 0 and to have seen some nitrite, so something may be wrong here.

can you give us as many details of your set up as you can please
