Hi all,
My tank has been cycling for 3 weeks now, can anybody advise me if my test results today are somewhere near the mark.

PH- 8.2
Ammonia-0.25
no2-0
no3-10

Kind regards.

Ammonia should be 0 but apart from that it seems ok dont worry about the no3 no matter waht people tell you. You are always going to get Nitrate if it goes anything above 20 then you start to worry only a little though.

Thanks for that ,
I have put some ammonia remover in and will test again later,

how long would you suggest before i get some fish.

Regards

if you are cycling the tank you don't want to add ammonia remover, you just want the filter to break down the ammonia into nitrite and then nitrate.

don't add any fish until the ammonia & nitrite levels have gone up and then come back down to 0.

Removing ammonia will inhibit the bacteria that get rid of the ammonia from growing, so cycling will take forever and adding a fish will result in an ammonia spike because you never allowed that special bacteria to fully establish. Don't use chemicals unless you need to treat for a disease.
