Well, I jsut got a nutrafin test kit, and everything is going fine so far.. I had 3.9 for nitrates on the first time, but after 2 50% water changes, its down to 0.5.. :good: and my ammonia is 0.0  also, my ph is 7.6...Is this good?

You want ammonia and nitrItes to be at 0 at all times. Nitrates are ok you just need to try and keep them at 40ppm or lower. You should rarely get a 0 reading for nitrAtes. Again NitrAtes are not harmful in small amounts (10-60ppm). Live plants help keep them down as they use them. Weekly water changes of 15-25 percent will keep them in check. Good job on the getting and using the test kit. Your ph is slightly above neutral but shouldnt be a problem...Just continue to check your water often and keep up on water changes and all should be ok :good:

if you've not already read it, read the link in my sig 'whats cycling?' it should explain to you what all the levels are and what different readings mean :good:
