Hi, I have always had wood in my fish tank, but over the years it has got smaller & smaller.
It is now time to re-decorate !!

My tank is a whopping 240ltr so rather than replace the wood (very expensive) I have decided to put something more unusual & LARGER in the tank. I have been thinking of possibly a couple of large Terracotta pots from a garden centre.

Is this ok ?

I suddenly thought that pots from garden centres might be treated in some special stuff ?

I would also be greatful to anyone who may have any other ideas on what you can put into an aquarium rather that the usual wood, rocks or ornaments from retailers.

standard terracotta pots are fine to add, as well as things like hollow coconuts

Not sure, its not everyone's taste, but blown glass, and long as it is smooth.
Vases would work too, if you like the pot look.
I use quarts and smooth crystals in amonst the plants in a tank, when the plants move you can see glimpses of color, i like it lol.

Just a thought, might have more for you later!

Nothing wrong with Terracotta pots in an aquarium. The only thing to note maybe is that if they have been used then fertilizer containing phosphates amonst other things may have been used so a good cleaning out and possibly diluted bleaching/rinsing may be required
