I have a dozen small terracotta pots lying around and I want to put them in my aquarium. Not all of htem. Just a few. My fish (I just bought today) don't have any real shelter other then my plants. I just want to know if it's safe to add them or do I need to test them first? I've just poured boiling water over them to kill anything that might be on them. Do I need to do anythign else?

Thanks :)

You should be just fine. I added a couple to my tank as well for my Cichlids.

Click the My 29 Gallon link in my sig to check out some pictures of my tank, and you can see the pots in there. They have been in my aquarium(s) for about 4 months now. :good:

Thanks! Your tank is lovely. I took some pics and will post in a bit. :D I like the look of the pots. And it's nice to finally have a use for them

Thanks, glad you like my tank.

I am sure you will find that your fish will like the pots a lot.

What I did(you dont have to)was cut the put in half and laid it on its side as illustrated in my pics.

Cant wait to see some of pics of your tank!
