What does clamped fins mean? Does it mean that the fishs fins are clamped to it's body? What are a chichilids, and what makes the different from tropical fish?

cichlids are a species of fish that come from mostly africa (at least the more popular ones) but also south america. they are just a different species of tropical fish. as for the clamped fins you have it right. it is a sign (usually) that something is wrong.

Cichlids (IPA pronunciation: [ˈsɪklɪd]) are fishes from the family Cichlidae in the order Perciformes. Wikipedia for you ;).

As you say. Clamped fins in when a fish holds its fins tight against its body. Usually a sign of stress most frequently caused by poor water conditions or an oncoming illness.
