Me and another member on here are curious if higher temperatures promote algae growth?

Or if temperature at all has an effect on Algae?

Thanks in advance!

no it wont cause it, although if you do have algae then the higher temperatures will promote faster cell reproduction.

Okay, so if algae is starting to grow in your tank tank, for whatever reason, if you were to raise the temperature it would promote the algae to grow faster?

If that^ is true? Wouldn't lowering the temperature slow down the growth of algae?

I also read that blue-green algae is effected a lot by higher temperatures?

Thanks for the replies!

i have heard this too, and BGA is said to be triggered by low oxygen levels, which as you probably know O2 levels are lower in higher temps so the theory is there. Not one i have come across, nor one that i usually list in main 'causes'
