My temperature reading is at 24 on my heater? is this right?

Turn it up, sorry not a helpfull answer i know lol .............. most heaters will have a temperature control on them, just adjust this a bit to increase the temperature to what you want

It's worth getting a thermometer as the heater thermostat may not always be accurate. This is not a problem as long as you know what the actual temp is. (Hint: I have 2 thermometers - that way if they both read the same I know they aren't broken)
 
definatly get a thermometer, the heater on my biorb is well dodgy, its shows 60 but infact the thermometer shows 78,maybe its the light that pushes the heat up,but i wouldnt risk it
as im always aqurring new tanks i tend to buy them in lots of 4 off ebay, then if any get broken or prove faulty,im not left without one, i pay £5.10 for 4 inc postage ( glass ones)...i wouldnt want to be doing guess work where my fishes are concerned :)

ooooops me bad :unsure: forgot to mention the thermometer, definately an esentual just prosumed everyone has them (stick on ones are not accurate so i wouldnt bother with them). i have 2 digital ones running in every one of my tanks
