I have a 12 gallon JBJ nano cube with a 50/50 light for looks and a 6500k pinkish light for plants. I used florabase for substrate and I've got the red sea bio co2 system.

Am I still going to get a ton of algae? If so what else do I need to change?

I know I've got 48 watts of lighting for on'y 12 gallons as well but the CO2 should help right?

I'm a total newbie to plants!

Let me have it

Plant heavily with fast growing stem plants - by heavily I mean 75% of substrate covered unless you have done so already. Underplanting is a common cause of algae.

Keep you CO2 at 30ppm if possible - unstable or low CO2 is another cause of algae. It needs to be a minimum of 20ppm. To measure CO2 use a pH and KH kit with a CO2 table - http://www.floridadriftwood.com/page.asp?id=16

Change your 50:50 tube. I assume it's half actinic (blue)? This will also encourage algae.
