I don't normally post in here, but I saw the topic title on the main page and thought I'd add my two cents. Assuming it's between 3 and 5 gallons, I'd go with either the aforementioned betta, or a dwarf puffer. Most people recommend 5 gallons minimum for a dwarf puffer, but honestly, mine doesn't use her full 5 gallons and I think DPs can do ok in a smaller tank as long as you keep up with your water changes. They are sensitive to water quality though, so that is an absolute MUST. I now have a pair of females in a 5 gallon tank together, they're great fish.

Just my two cents... Bettas are wonderful fish and I think you'd be very happy with one... they have great personality and come in a massive array of different colours!

A trio of Endlers or Mosquito fish could work, provided it's closer to the 5g. You might have fry to deal with, if you keep mixed sexes, which would then overstock it. You can keep all male Endlers though. Just a few, since it's a small tank.

That's a lovely suggestion, Annastasia, especially if the tank is planted. The Endlers then pop out of the greenery. Really nice.

llj :D

What about male guppy, would that work?

If Kellybelly would favor us with a 3rd demention, that'd make reccing fish far easier for many of us.

Maybe....

See, with male Guppies, they are bigger and you need at least 5 to spread out aggression. They also need room for their own little territories, so I think that tank will be on the small side for that. Endlers are smaller, and more peaceful, hence why I suggested them. :)
