Well I have an Advent 5431 and I turned it on today - after doing a master re-install about a week or so because of problems with the computer, everything was going fine the past week - then I turned it on a few hours later it wouldnt work - Saying everything had failed to load.

I rang up techguys as it is still under the 12 month warrenty and they said its the image on the hardrive that has gone. I asked how its caused and they said "because we mass produce you always get the odd computer that goes wrong, or the laptop could of just had a bad day."

So they are sending a disk out that will be here in the next 5 days that should fix it. So for now I have robbed my dads spare laptop. Our house is full of them!

1 netbook, 1 running computer (about 4 in the attic), 4 laptops. So im quite lucky, I would thought I would post a topic on how helpful they are. So if your laptop/pc etc. is involved with TechGuys and you have any problems just give them a ring. :good:

Now the wait for the 5 days begins. The post man will love me, Filter, Heater, Plastic Plants, Light, CDs all on the way :blush:

my dad used to work for pc world, he has a vendetta against them; he wont let me buy anything from there!

postmans gonna have a separate van to deliver it all :p
 
I've always had a good experience with Techguys in the past. When I used to have an Advent laptop, it failed within the first month, took it back, got a replacement, that one failed 2 weeks later, took it back and they let me take a Toshiba. That then had a minor fault, they collected it, fixed it and returned it within 3 working days. I don't like stuff like that repeatedly breaking on me, but good on the company for running to my aid every time I hit an issue :good:
