TDS readingings only apply if you are measuring the hardness and pH of RO water and are varied to suit particular fish. For example fish from mineral deprived areas like the blackwater rivers of the amazon would require a lower TDS measure than fish from the african rift valley lakes and rivers which have a high mineral content.
I'm using RO water for water changes and adding electro right for the minerals and bicarbonate of soda for the pH. But, as the RO water has a TDS reading of 0.00 I was wondering what the reading should be?
A TDS reading of around 150ppm is suitable for common community fish but should be lower if you have any soft water loving fish such as rams, appistogramma species, discus, angel fish, corydoras etc, a TDS of around 100ppm is more suitable for these
