is there such a thing as too much pressure? I only ask because the pressure at my hose spigot is 105 PSI.

Wow, you're LUCKY. There is such a thing as too much PSI, but its usually not a problem until you get to the 150-200PSI range before seals are at risk. RO units run better with more pressure and most locales in the US struggle to get over 40PSI at the line. Mine's about 42PSI in my basin downstairs and I'm thrilled with that.
