Tannin in drift wood?

Here is what my tank looks like after 2 1/2 days with the wood in it. The soaking the wood in hot water helped alot.

The gold fish are just for cycling.

i use driftwood and currio wood i use salt to fast the tannins in to the wood and then boiled them and left them to soak for 4 days my water is stained to perfection not too much and not to little besides my discus love the tannin

ya boiling the water seems to be the trick as there is much tannin at all. Im glad there is a bit in there. It gives it a more real look.
