Tanks Mates

thinking about gettin a male betta can someone please give me some advice on tank mates as i want it as a community fish ??

DEFINATLY no fin nippers! These includes Danios and barbs...

Do not mix with Gouramis of any kind, as they will fight to the death... Also, NEVER have two male Bettas in the same tank unless they are seperated. Don't have males and female Bettas together as they also fight.

Small Tetras can be fin nippers, but I've never had trouble with them as they are very peacefull placid fish. Corys also make good tankmates.

You're pretty much limited to fish that are dull-colored and peaceful like cories and otocinclus... however, some bettas don't even like sharing their space with any other fish at all, so make sure you have a spare tank to put your betta if it doesn't work out.
