i have had my 14 gallon tank now since xmas and it is all going downhill fast everything was going great until now
ive had 3 platys die in the past week bacuse of parasites and the remaining 4 are looking really fat  and are pooing white worms meds havent helped a bit and i dont think theyll make it
and the male guppie is trying to kil the other.i cant have females coz theres no room for the fry and the weak male is just hiding tin the rocks and when he comes out he gts attacked
and one of the male plats chaces any fish in sight

oh and the rescued goldfish in the 44 cant stay on the gravel and is constantky swimming, when it stopps it floats upwards :-(

what a week

the ones with the worms, i would put them down no cure, sorry, they will infest the whole tank, the goldfish try some shelled peas and daphnia, and add some salt to the goldfish tank sounds like swimbladder, sorry for all your problems.

i cant put them down.i just cant do it i love them and they dont loo sick whicch would make me feel even worse.i just hope the guppies and cores will be ok
and i will try the daphnia with the goldies and pea(once i figuer out how to shell it)and ill get some salt but i cant get to the lfs till sat

I no it's awful, had to be brave myself, can you issolate the one's with the internal parasites, or they will infect the others and you will end up losing them all.

What i would do would be issolate the one's with the parasites, then you will have to strip the tank down and sterlise everything, to get rid of the worms.

i dont have anywhere to put them i dont have a spare tank where they wont get eaten.i dont even know its def parasites yet im just jumoing to conclusions but heres whats going on

q.afew(not all)are looking realy fat like bloated but theyre boys
2.they have long white stringy poo
3.it only happens to the platys
4.ive had three die

does parasites kill or is it like ich obly kils with something else
and do the meds work?

What do you feed the fish, as long stringy poo and bloated look can be internal bacteria infection, try some shelled peas to make sure, also it can be consipation, i would also feed some daphnia if things don't improve then it most likely will be internal parasites.

I've had some internal parasites in my main tank recently and it does seem to only effect the platys but trust me, putting the affected fish down is the only sure fire way to get rid of the parasite- i started with 2 affefected platys, one which died very early one. I then found out it was internal parasites but i was too slow to put the remaining affected female down, by which time another 2 platys had got infected which also had to be put down. I've finally wiped the parasite out, but putting affected fish down realy is the only safe way to get rid of the parasite- be brave :) Its for the best of your fish  .
The white poo on the other hand is probably internal bacteria, use "anti internal bacteria" by Interpet and some cooked de-shelled to your fish and it should clear up.
Somtimes you may feel that you are just getting one problem after another, but it will end, trust me, things will sort themselves out with the right care  . Good luck with the fish  .

well im gonna try and get some of thet med stuff it looks like a bacterial infection (fingers crossed)but if not then i might have to put them to sleep. But one prioblem knocks onto anopther coz i cant buy any more guppies to balance out the agression and bullyin between the males bacause of the parasites/bacteria.well just have to wait and see.
i will try daphnia but i cant et any until at leas sat because the LFS is 45 mins away and my dad wont drve me n theres nowhere else thta sells it and i dobt know how to shell or cook a pea!

Yeh we all have downhill moments, the life of tropical fish is full of ups and downs....im having a bit of a downer right now, i have an algae bloom, my pleco got to big for my tank, i had an angel die from chlorine poisoning and now my plug timer has broken so i have to turn the air pump on and off manualy!! lol what a tuff life.

Hi - sorry for the problems you're having. If you have any peas in the freezer, take one or two out, put them in a cup of hot water from the tap and leave them in it for 5 mins. Them take them out and squish them, and you'll see there's like an outside skin and a darker green inside bit. Remove and throw away the skin, then really squish the inner bit into little soft bits - use your fingers or the back of a teaspoon. Chuck these in the tank!

thanks everone.i will get some meds asap and see if that works and fee peas afew times a wekk and see if they get better.if not who knows what i will have to do
