Fish Fanatic
Hi all, I haven't posted a topic in ages. My 90L/24G planted tank is doing well. Recently, my Blue Rams seem to be wanting to begin breeding (courtship behavior), but nothing is happening, and I'm wondering if their tankmates are the problem?
I know the cardinals aren't an issue, but my beckford's pencilfish are pretty big bullies and will chase both rams, they are also very active. As much as I like them I wonder if they are an issue? I do have two panda corys but they are going to be re-homed soon anyway as they were just rescues. I do also have a single male red honey gourami who seems pretty chilled with them but I guess he could also be an issue.
My current stocking is:
M/F Blue Ram
9x Cardinal Tetras
5x Beckford's Pencilfish
2x Panda Cory
1x Male Red Honey Gourami
The tanks is heavily planted, has bogwood, smooth stone substrate of various sized, flat bits of slate, oak leaves and is at 6.9pH last time I tested but the oak leaves may have brought it down more. Temp was at 26C but once Panda Cory are gone will go up to 28C? They are getting fed high quality flake and pellets and also get bloodworm at least once a week.
Any suggestions are most welcome.
EDIT: Pic of tank, outdated but you get the idea.
