Our guppy has been relegated to a 5 gallon tank because he is constantly trying to impregnate our fish (platies and barbs) so to relieve some of the stress in the tank we moved the guppy to our 5 gallon hospital tank. He seems to be a bit lonely in there all by himself so we're wondering what fish would be compatible with him. Another guppy is probably out of the question, unless it's a male, because we don't want to have a who mess of guppy fry. Any suggestions?

I agree, I have Mollies, Red Wagtail Platies and Guppies all living peacefully together - swordtails are another option as are Endlers

Most other Livebearers would be fine, but the fact it's a 5 gallon tank cuts out a lot of them. Mollies and Swordtails will get way too big for that size tank. I'd say maybe a few Pygmy Cories....or Ghost Shrimp.

How long are you planning on keeping him in there? Not permanently? Because if you aren't planning on keeping him there a long time, you can usually stick some younger Platies in with him, and grow them up for a while until the tank just gets to be too small. :)

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm not sure if the guppy is going to stay in the tank. He's really a bit out of place in all of my tanks and I can't really get rid of him since he was a present from my nephew.

The ghost shrimp isn't a bad idea. :)
