I Know it should be hardware section but I need a quick answer

I'm in the middle of moving my 3' tank from one room to another and just figured out I have a problem, what I was going to put the tank on is 1cm to small on either side. Would this make a difference? would it be ok to have 1cm of tank off either side (i do have it on a thin layer of foam)

I can't see it would make a lot of difference. In fact I can imagine you could get away with an inch hanging over and it would still be fine
