I was at my local LFS yesterday and I was looking at the Betta's and I really wanted to get one or two.
I find the little kits they sell at the store to be a bit on the small side, but thats a personal thing I guess. I was wondering what everyone else keeps their Betta's in, I mean, would it be cruel of me to get a 2.5 gal that would fit nicely on my desk? Or should I just bring my 5 gal back up from the basement if I want to get a Betta?

A 2.5 gallon is the bare minimum, but with a 5 gallon, your Betta will be much, much happier. So I would recommend that you go for the 5 gal

I keep bettas in tanks ranging from 2.5 to 10, so, you're fine. No smaller tho

I'd use the 5 gallon as it's already paid for. :)

I'd also go for the 5 gal, they would be a lot happier than in the 2.5. I personally like to think 5 gallons as the minimum tank size for bettas, so I'd say the 2.5 would be too small. Mine is kept in a 7.4 gallon :good:
