I would really love a tank about 125l to 150l but I am going to have to keep it in my bedroom and I am worried about the weight. I currently have a wood floor. Would an upper level easily support 150l tank. I do not want it crashing through the roof onto someone downstairs. lol.

Also can anyone suggest a good make of tank, as I don't want a rubbishy tank that is likely to explode.

Thanks for your help

Hi if you have a modern house with chipboard flooring i wouldnt worry. If tyou have floor boards you need to spread the load.

Hope this helps & welcome!!!

Thank you for getting back to me so quite on this. I think my house may have floorboards but will have to check. What length of tank would you suggest to spread the loan over? Do you think I would be better with a smaller tank if my house does have floorboards? If so, what size would you suggest?

Its about spreading the load across the joists rather than the baords, so it depends on which the joists run compared to which way you want to put the tank! 1ltr of water = 1kg & tank & kit!!! the joists will run at 90deg to the boards!

Hope this makes sense and helps

Yes this helps alot, thanks you.

you've got nothing to worry about with a tank that size, up to 55 gallons going across the joists should not be a problem in most houses. Much more than that and your gonna want to be very careful.
