Hey, I'm glad(Or maybe not  ) to say my convicts have spawned! Not in my tank though. I gave mine to a friend, and they spawned in a barnacle.

The odd thing is, they've bred at a very small size. Both are barely 2 inches long! But they are devoted parents, even to the extreme of not eating foodif it doesn't come near their territory.

I don't want to be mean, but I think from personal experience they will both be stunted because of breeding this early.

So I was JUST(Really! All I'm going to do is raise the fry for my friend.....Not take away the convict pair) wondering if these smaller convicts could make do with a smaller tank, say about 10 gallons. If not, just correct me.

Wow.....I'm amazed! I didn't know convicts could breed at such a small size! And about 30~40 babies too! The smallest pair I've ever seen were in LFS tanks and they were 3 inches long at least!

I've had a 1inch long female breed with a big male. Over 200 eggs! I would put them in a 15 g and if they start to show any signs of growing, put them in a bigger tank.
