is it better to place a tank near the middle of the room than infront of a window ? even if you have black curtains ? could it still casue algae blooms ?

If you plan for it though could it not be very useful for keeping corals? I was looking into how people set up commercial coral farms and a lot use green houses with just sunlight (obviously this would not work in the uk ;)). It might not be as usable in a "display tank" but it could be an interesting way to suppliment your lighting.

i have also seen this used as a way of lighting the tank , but it has allways been done on a last system with many hundereds of gallon. i think that in are mini reefs lighting via the sun is a risk to great to take on. and in smaller tank (75 gal or less) is to large a risk due to heat.

would be a bg no from me , sorry bud
