Hey guys, I thought I'd better post some pictures of my tank seeing as though I've been sticking my two pennies worth in on a few threads over the past couple of weeks.

No doubt it will be full of algae in the coming weeks so I thought I better take some pictures before all hell breaks loose.

Very nice mate i like it, you obviously know what you are doing (and talking about) what type of moss are you using on the driftwood.........

Thanks guys, very kind of you to comment. This is a tank I have had for ages in various aquascapes but this has been the first time I have been able to keep it going, a few weeks ago this tank was overrun with thick hair alage and ramshorn snails! Theres a few problems with it but the stem plants I'm keeping going in here while I set my new tank up, so I can xfer them once there's water in my new tank, same goes for the moss which is very overgrown and looks a bit wrong IMO.

Zig - it's just normal java moss v dubyana

Simonbrown403 - that plant is aponogeton crispus, which I have only recently started using but I really like it

The tank is a rio 125 and the gadget things are a long term ph indicator and a CO2 diffuser, both by fishvet, there basically copies of ADA glass CO2 equipment but a bit cheaper.

wow, i thought it was the same as my big one (Rio 180), looks huge in the pics. do you have any links for the ph indicator and co2 diffuser. i use the JBL permanent PH test but not overly impressed. the range is so wide you dont really know whats going on. i could do with another co2 diffuser as well.

He he, I would like a rio 180 myself I think it's a really good size to aquascape, my new tank is similar size but about 200L.

The diffusers and indicator are from aquaessentials.co.uk if you look on CO2 accessories under fishvet you should see them there, I can't recommend enough the benefits of using glass equipment like this, it really makes perfect sense to use glass stuff inside the tank, I would like to get all ADA glass diffusers and filter inlet and outlet pipes at some point but they're pretty expensive.

cheers for that. i'll add them to the list along with the new NA tubes they are getting in soon. I didn't realise they sold copy ADA stuff as well. thanks a lot.

the 180 is a great size, allows you to grow stem plants that little bit further which makes all the difference "pinking" them up etc.. co2 is a tad more tricky with DIY though (2 nutrafins just about get there). i assume your using pressurised though looking at the tank so wouldn't cause you a problem.

No probs, I'm not sure if they are actually copies as such because the quality of them is really pretty good, the indicator is a rip off of ADAs 'drop checker' though :D, the good thing is you only need to use one drop of fluid each time.

I am using pressurised yeah, you might be able to use it with your DIY stuff I don't know, the bubbles come out in a fine mist rather than a normal stream of bubbles. I dont know if that would happen with a DIY setup, I guess it should do. I'm looking forward to doing a planted tank in a bigger tank as I've had my 125 for years.

Thats an amazing tank you have there. I absoultly love it. You have any fish in the tank?

Thank you sir! I know what you mean you can hardly see the fish, I have a small group of glowlight tetras, ottos, 3 SAEs (great) one bleeding heart tetra and 3 dutch rams. Also loads of shrimp. I had a problem a couple of months ago with my tank and all my fish and shrimp died in the space of one evening, it was probably the worst fishkeeping thing to happen to me for years, plus after that my tank got infested with hair alage. Anyway all of the fish died save for the fish left here (minus 2 rams which I added), the one bleeding heart tetra is one of the guys that made it so I'm keeping him and getting some more soon along with some more glowlights, I reckon a few more fish are needed.

I still dont know why they all died it was either a ph crash or a biological filter crash. I've never had any probs with fish in the past its always been plants and algae that have caused me the most problems.

Looks awesome. Nice work!

Any plans to put a background on it?

Nice work mate. Always great see another Nature Aquarium here in the UK.

When the Hygro fills upwards it will produce a lovely triangle style layout sloping down to the left, similar to mine in a way (always a good thing!)

I actually like the lack of background, although it would be good to see a darker colour to compare.

It would look even better hiding your CO2 gear before photographing!

Kudos!
