Hey guys, got a few questions that I am having trouble finding positive answers and would like to know what you do with your tank(s)
What are the perfect tank measurements for thing such as ammonia, nitrate, nitrate in a community tank? Also what is the best temperature? Finally what is the best amount of time to have the light on?
Thanks,

Based on research ammonia and nitrite should be at 0, and nitrate between 5-20. As for temperature it really depends on the tank and inhabitants. If its tropical generally 24-27 celsius is good, but it really depends on what you have. For lighting, usually 10-12 hours, but it depends if you have a lighted tank or not.

Only really set value is 0 for ammonia and nitrite.

Nitrate can vary alot, most only seem 0-20ppm, but most of my tanks read 40ppm. I believe 100ppm is fine for most common fish.

Temp depends on fish. Cold water tanks, tropical cool water, regular tropical, tropical warm water.
Recommended temp comes down to what fish you keep. Some fish need higher temps, while some need lower temps.

Light shouldn't be on all the time. Other then that I don't really care. Most suggest 8-12 hours. IMO you don't even need a light if the room is well lit. Lighting really only matter once you get into plants.
