Hi, i am getting a 400 litre tank soon, in addition to my 190 litre. i would like to keep my large silver dollars and silver sharks in the 400 litre tank but would also like to put some chilids with them. the chilids i was thinking of are red blood parrot and midas.. Do chilids mix with normal tropical fish or is this suicide

any help much apprecieted .. thank you all

Most chilids are aggressive. With silver dollars and silver sharks (bala sharks, right?) you may have some problems. :good:

Yer they are bala shark . looks like i will have to re-consider but might take the risk as i would love to keep them together!

thanks

yea with bala sharks u will have big problems i think most of sharks are aggressive i have a red tailed shark and is kinda quite it amazes me sometimes. but u should be a bit cerefull what u put, cuz 1 day u fill the tank in the next day u check and theres only the sharks lol. good luck :)

How many sharks and Dollars do you have? A lot of my customers at the store where i work in th UK find Parrot Fish to live fine with them provided there is enough space for them all, As for the ones we have in store in our display tank they are really placid fish, but obviously certain fish can vary. The Midas cichlid however isn't one that i would recommend

As for the Bala Sharks, Agressive is not a word i have ever described them as, IMO they are one of the most peaceful sharks, other sharks such as the RTB and Rainbows CAN be Territorial but are usually fine in a hardy community tank.
