I have a 5 gallon with a whisper filter.

Currently i have one male and one female guppy (i know they should be kept at a 2 females:1 male ratio but my store never has female guppies) and she's really agressive so the male doesn't usually bother her.

I also have a 2 year old betta male, and no he hasn't turned on the guppies yet, he's really quite docile :dunno: but i don't think i really want to keep him in there long term just until i can find a tank for him.

Anywho, i'm looking to get a fish/creature that will clean my tank because there is quite a lot of algae growing. And i've heard multiple things from my pet store so i really don't know what to beleive :p
As ghost shrimp any good? they have like 6 for like $4.

Also is it possible for me to put feeder guppies in (same brightly coloured ones if i can find them) to help out my lone female fancy tail? And will they interbreed. :)

A 5gallon tank is a very small tank and is very limited to what can actually happily live in it, if you already have a female and male guppy and male betta i'd say its already stocked to the limits. Feeder guppys are just normal guppys but are bad quality in general and are only sold as food for predatory fish(hence the name "feeder guppys"), adding any more fish of any sort to your tank would make it overstocked. I would personally rehome the male guppy and replace him with a female guppy, either that or upgrade to a 10gallon tank.
With your current stocking there aern't any algae eating fish that could live in it and not make the tank overstocked, so you'll just have to resort cleaning up the algae yourself for now.
I would advise you upgrade your tank to a 10gallon one for the guppys and leave the betta in the 5gallon(which he'll be very happy in on his own, bettas aern't very sociable fish that do best when they don't have to put up with or compete for food with other fish). In a 10gallon tank your current guppys will get along much better due to having more space and so less negative confrontation with each other, you could buy some more female guppys as this will make the genders more balanced and you could buy a small algae eating fish like an oto to help keep the tank clean. Even with algae eating fish though you will still have to feed them extra food like algae wafers- ghost shrimp don't clean algae but simply scavenge off the bottom of the tank but they also need extra food themselves.
In a 10gallon tank you could fit for example;
1 oto (grows to 3inchs max)
4 guppys(1 male, 3 female)
And perhaps 3 peppered or pygmy corys?

(please read up on setting up new tanks/new tank sydrome and cycling tanks in the pinned articles as this will help you save alot of fish lives and help you acheive a healthier tank in the long run :) )
