If you must go ahead and populate 3rd species in your tank, the following are compatible to your previous two species (IMO, I still believe 40g breeder is too small to pull this off):

- Iodotropheus Sprengeraes
- Maylandia Estherae
- Pseudotropheus socolofi
- Pseudotropheus Acei

If you are going to populate with a 3rd species, I'll second the nom for the Pseudotropheus socolofi.

You also asked if footprint is more preferred for Africans - and the answer is yes, but what that means is they prefer a longer tank vs. a tall tank.

yeah i only seen orange at the pet store too...

and thx for informing me about crossbreeding... i was very worried about that

and thx to the other dude about the footprint(i knew that though)

and the Tropheus, i ment this>>> Tropheops macrophthalmus ... not that breed per say but that family... also i dunno anything about them, there just on the bottom of the mbuna list

socolofi look nice(i like the black band) but Pseudotropheus saulosi also look kool too, but they also look like demonsi...

i dunno im still undecided(and a long way off)
