I like many others was misinformed on the size clowns get to. I currently have 3 of them with a couple irredecent sharks a few khuli loaches 3 dojo loachesand some neons. I found out doing a seach online that they get rather large. I planned on getting a 55 gallon tank but ended up getting a 90 this past monday. I put a few live plants and a cave in the tank. Most of the fish in my 29 will be staying in there. I plan on putting the 3 clowns, the 2 sharks, and the dojos in the new tank once its good to go. I threw 4 danios in the 90 yesterday to start the cycle and to have something in there to look at for now. What would be some other good tank mates for the loaches? I mainly want midsize to larger fish. I was thinking of maybe a ghost knife and a couple Burmese Border Loaches. Im not set on anything yet still have a while before anything will be added to the new tank. What are your suggestions for my tank. Also I had a hard time finding a nice cave. The one I have now is fine because the clowns are only about 3-4 inches. Does anyone know of a good place to look for caves and other decorations for my tank? The local fish stores have a terrible selection of decor. I had to go to 4 stores just to find a small cave! I wish I had looked around on the net sooner I wouldn't of even bothered setting up the 29 gallon.

I'd stay away from the ghost knife, the tank will likely be too active for them.

Most peaceful, moderately active community fish are fine for clowns. Tetras, Danios, cories, rainbowfish, community catfish, livebearers, etc. Occasionally someone will say that they have seen their large (~10-12 inch) clowns eating small tetras, but this seems to be rare. It'll be a long time before yours reach that size.

Also be aware that the iredescent sharks (sp?) can get VERY large too. Bigger than the clowns. This fish will give you more compatiblility trouble than the others. They'll eat smaller fish as they get large enough to do it. The one I've seen in a friends tank seems to grow pretty slow though...maybe someone else with more experience can chime in.

I have got 3 clown loaches in my tank with 2 ghost knifes and they are fine.
The rest of my tank consists of 2 angles, 3 tiger barbs, 2 bristlenose, 1 sailfin pleco, 5 glass cats, 2 pictus cats, 1 leopard cory, 2 discus, 2 flying foxes, 2 false flying foxes, 2 pearl gouramis

And yes I have had all these in together for over 12mths now and they are all fine before anyone asks

wow can we get a picture of this tank sounds really colourful and unusual. I thought Discus needed to be alone and angels with tiger barbs hmmmm I would love angels and Discus.
