Hi,

I currently have a fully planted aquarium which has 5 (3M, 2F) Red Cockatoo's, and a large school of Cadinal Tetras (40-50). I really want to breed the cockatoo's. I recently purchased a small red tail shark and added it to the tank. I had one several years ago and I remember it beng somewhat aggressive but not terribly dangerous. My question is will its addition prevent breeding either now or when it matures and would it eat any fry?.

I am aware that these can grow quite large and I have other tanks availiable for it if and when that was needed.

Thank you in advance

The tank sounds nice

Check out my sig .

You should really have more females then males IMO , the males tend to beat on the females , so having other females to divert attention may be less stressful for them[ females] .

Red tailed black sharks grow to about 6" , and become quite aggressive .

if anything, i'd cut down on some fish, 40-50 cardinal tetras + other fish will put quite a strain on the filters and not leave much room for any other fish to move about happily.

Just remember that fish grow.
