Hi,

I've just modified my 30ltr biorb, I'm thinking of putting in a male betta, what would be a good tank mate? or would he be happier on his own?

Cheers,

Abbie

Cories would be ok, providing you took the media out, and are using sand.

I have seen bettas with neons, you could probably have 6

neons, a couple ottos, or some shrimp
If you have a betta that prefers to live alone you will know right away. He will try to fight the other fish through the bag. Some bettas are very peaceful, others, not so much.

I like to idea of some corys and shrimp, how many of each would be suitable for a 30 ltr?

I have got sand by the way!

There are only 2 types of corys suitable for 30liter tank- Pygmy or Panda Corys. They should be kept in trio's+. Shrimp-wise stick to small peaceful shrimp like Cherry or Ghost Shrimp (like to be kept in trio's+ too). Shrimp do have the potential to be viewed as food though.
Personally i would just get an Apple Snail :) .

Brilliant, thanks for all your help
