Tank Lighting

I know this may be an obvious question but,
The light on my tank failed today, its flickering and making a buzzing noise.
The tank is only small 40ltrs and has 6 platties.
How will this affect my fish?
How long can they survive without any tank light ?
(tank is not by any other light source except normal sunlight). It is the opposite side of the room to the window & gets no direct light
 
Working shifts I'm not able to get any replacement parts until Tues (today is Thurs)., and that depends on what I need & its availability.
 
Any advice most welcome.

Unless you have plants, your tank will be fine without any light. Don't worry about it, your fish won't be affected in the slightest
