Hi folks. I need to replace a bulb which has now flickered off to a better place up in strip light heaven. I currently have a blue moonlight by Interpet in there, and from before I fitted that, I also have a Glo Aqua Glow bulb which I took out when I got the moonlight one. Does anyone know if these twwo will be sufficient for my live plants in my tank or should I just replace the Glo Power Glow? Does it depend on tank size, number of plants, location of tank etc, or is there a general do's and do not's when it comes to lighting?

So you now have only one flickering blue light in the tank?

If you have space for only one bulb and you have a spare bulb (Glo Aqua Glow/Glo Power Glow/whatever), then you should be fine if you replace the broken blue bulb with that. Blue is not that great for growing plants under, but any whiteish or not-complete-weird-colour bulb should be fine. If you are planing to buy a new bulb, I can recommend cool daylight (colour 865 which by Philips/Osram/whoever) and that you look at bulbs which are not branded for aquarium use.

No no, sorry for the misunderstanding - I have a blue one which is completely fine, the Power Glow was the flickering one. So with the blue one and the Aqua Glow that should be ok?
