I'm new here and not sure if this is the right section but here goes...

My tank is 24 x 12 x 12 (12gallon) and has a single 15w fluorescent bulb/strip light thingy (sorry not really sure what it should be called)

Its a communitity fish tank but ive decided i want to add live plants to it and make it much more intresting.

Is the bulb bright enough for my recently purchased plants to survive? im using fertiliser tablets too btw,

Any suggestions and cmments will be greatly appreciated.

Adam

BTW: i tried reading the sticky on lighting and got confused, sorry

You have 1 watt per gallon, which is considered low light. You can get plants to grow, but you will be limited as to which ones will do really well.

What plants have you recently bought?

ok, ive taken soem photos (really bad ones)

hope this helps, and you can tell me a bit more.

this is a stemmed plant with red underside on the leaves (has more than oen leaf on each stem.)

This is from above (very bad image) also a stemmed plant

Image quality is very bad..sorry. probs wont help much at all.
