When I bought my tank the dealer sold me a light fixture that has a 6500K 55W CF and a 10000K 65 CF.
The tank is deep (24"). I have seen some opinions that the 10000K may not be quite right for my tank.
Also, I have a few patches of BGA starting. Any Suggestions or Comments?

36G Bow Planted Tank
350 Magnum Filter
CO2 Injection
6500K 55W
10000K 65W
30 Misc Tetras
6 Cory
GH=8
KH=6
PH=6.9
Temp=78F
Ammonia <=.25 ppm
Nitrite 0 ppm
Nitrate <=5 ppm

10000k is less than ideal for planted, but some people swear by them . Try another tube instead if it possible. Try a full spectrum tube around the 6500k spectrum.
Don't know if you spotted the pinned link at top of forum but its a good guide.

hope this is some help.

Is this tank US or UK gallons as you dont give your location, also is it a planted tank, i will presume its US gallons, either way you have about 3 watts per gallon over the tank which is quite a lot of light, the reason you are seeing the bga is because your nitrate levels are too low if the tank is planted, a planted tank with this much light over it will require regular fertilisation of nitrate, phosphate, potassium and trace elements and also a supply of co2 at a steady rate of 30ppm throughout the photoperiod.

Basically the nitrate levels are to low and will need to be corrected, you should aim for 10-15ppm nitrate.

Do you have a phosphate testkit ? you will have to invest in one of those if you dont posess one allready, its important to know those levels as well.

Have a look at the pinned article on the Estimate Index at the top of this section of the forum, this will give you a good idea as to whats involved in the proper fertilisation of a highlight co2 injected planted tank.

I just checked your co2 levels and they are about 22ppm which is on the low side also.

Getting things right in the tank wont be that difficult if you start a proper fert regime, i would reduce your light levels until you are in a position to tackle the bga.

If your not sure of anything just ask............
