the light on my tank just wont work, i have tried replacing the fuse and cutting the wire and replcaing the plug but it still wont work.

will my tank still have a gurantee?

Probably a stupid question, but you've tried replacing the bulb, right?

And it might still have a guarantee...if you bought the light with the tank. What kind of tank, and how long have you had it? :)

Was going to be my first question too. :p You try everything but the simplelest solution. :D

what tank is it?

If it is a juwel tank - they have electronic balasts... that die :(

our trigon 350 has just lost its 2x30w light :(.

if it is inside guarantee then i doubt your retailer will replace as you have cut the wire. Juwel themself would most likely reject the return.

The light units go all the time have plenty come back at work your best bet is eBay!

this happened to me last week.

first i got a new bulb and it didnt work.

so i went to buy a starter and it didnt work.

then i found out u need the exact starter for the wattage.

for i exchanged my starter and it finally worked.

the juwel items are all electronic and dont has the traditional starters :(

I was watching one on ebay - about 1 yeay old and it sold for £46 - in P&P

a new one is only £65.

Yeah the Juwel ones really are the pits - I've decided lol
Had the same problem with mine a few months ago and cost me roughly around £45 / £50 to replace :grr:
