Tank Leaking! :(

I just found out that my 20 gallon is leaking! It's leaking around the border at the top and bottom! It's not fast, very slow drips. Anyone know how this could have happened? The tank is on a level surface and not over filled (is filled to the bottom of the border). Also I don't have the money to run out and get a tank divider until friday (so that I can move the 20g fish to the 55 for now) will the tank be ok until then, is there anyway to ensure it will be?

The seals could of gone, how old is the tank.

Maybe I could fix it w/ new sealant? I have this biiiig rubbermaid type of tub, (prob would hold 20 gallons), if I move my fish into there w/ the same water and ornaments and the filter + heater, would they be ok? Or would the plastic be poisonous? I hope everything will be ok, I'd hate for anything to happen to my fish.

P.S. Oh and the tank isn't old, I got it around last June.

Just give the rubbermaid a swill down with clean water and it should be fine, good luck.

Thank you for the info, I'll transfer them over, I wish I wouldn't have to stress the fish though. Also about the sealant, any idea how long it takes to dry, how much to use etc? Should I do the whole tank or just the leaks. I am trying to think of everything ahead of time so that this doesn't happen again.

If there is no cracks I would reseal it all, aquarium sealent, but never used it so don't no the drying out period, though it could be 24 hours in a well aernated area

I came home tonight, ready to drain the tank and everything. Any now all of a sudden it's not leaking Maybe my filter was acting up, I dunno? I don't think a leak would just stop on it's own. I'm going to watch this tank 'very' carefully. If it was the filter I panicked for nothing but hey don't we all worry about out fishies a little too much here? lol
