I got this 10g about 2 wks ago and set it up. All seemed fine so I put 2 fish in it. Well last night I was going to go to bed and decided to test the water. The ammonia was a bit up so I did a 25% water change. Afterward I noticed the table top looked kind of bumpy in a couple of spots. Felt around the tank and the cloth under is soaking wet! I felt along all of the seams, vertical and horizontal, and all was dry. I know I didn't make a mess when I was doing the water change. It's in my living room so I'm very careful and even so, the bumps in the table wouldn't have come up so quick. So I knew it had to be a leak on the bottom. Dammit. So I wake dh up and we get the fish into the other tank and empty all the water out. I put the filter cartridge in the filter in my big tank to preserve the bacteria, along with the sock of gravel I was using to clone the tank. I didn't think to do anything with the bio wheel (which has only been running for a few days so it's probably not colonized much anyway) and I just left the old gravel for now. Thankfully the water didn't reach my carpet so it's obviously a slow leak. I couldn't find anything along the bottom of the tank but obviously it's there. NONE of the tank walls had any moisture on them and the cords were all completely dry. The filter was not dripping (anyway all the water was on the opposite end of the tank).

So I call the store where I bought it and they say bring it in, we'll 'help you out'. I said do you mean exchange it and he said he didn't know. Maybe exchange it or "something". What else are they going to do? Re-silicone all of the joints? the tank is put together funny anyway-the one corner isn't flush. So anyway the manager is supposed to call me back so I can discuss it with him since they don't have any tanks right now that are this size. I would really rather just buy another tank at another store and get the $15 or so in store credit and use it for fish food or filter cartridges or something.

Anyway I'm having a bad weekend. Sat. night I hit a deer and now this. Thankfully there were only 2 fish in it and all of my fish in both tanks are peaceful community ones that can be put together.

They'll have to replce it for you, it's under guarentee for at least a year never mind 2 weeks.

My 10 gallon was leaking and had a small discus in it, it had been for ages but I thought it was evaporation.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. I hope everything turns out for the better and you are able to get a new tank or some sort of compensation. If they say that they'll reseal the tank, don't take it and demand some other compensation.
