Hi guys, I've had my 4ft, 55gallon tank for about a year, its reasonably well decorated with rocks/wood and a few plants (not enough though). and I was thinking that it'd be cool if I could lanscape the tank a bit more, including some really cool shapes and hopefully adding a lot more plants and generally making the tank look a lot cooler.
something like this is what i had in mind, think of it as a cross section through the side, pretty much what im wanting to do. excuse the crappiness of the picture
anyway i was wondering whats the best way to go about doing something like this would be?, i was thinking using foam blocks and crumbling them into the desired shapes would be a good idea, then painting/gluing gravel or something onto them to make it look like rock. this would be pretty light so shouldn't be too hard to pull off.
does anyone have experience with doing this type of thing? my major concern is that it looks good, i'm a perfectionist so if it doesn't look 'natural' i wont be satisfied and it'll annoy me
i also realise till decrease the effective volume of my tank and that ill have to glue it together a bit, im also concerned about the use of glue (maybe use a non toxic sealer?) but im sure i can get around that. also i hope to maintain good water flow so iany design tips in that regard would be great
