Tank help

I just got a new tank....salt water...and the back left corner of the tnak is blocked off with dividers and at the bottom of the tank in these dividers is a threaded hole going all the way through the tank....what is it for and what equipment do I need for it to work porperly?

sounds like an overflow to me.
you need a sump tank in the cabinet underneath, and a return pump to bring water back to the main tank.
