Hey everyone.

Ive just set-up my 2ft tank (Finally)

It's pretty plain at the moment as all I have is the filter and a heater haha...

I'm going to get the recommended 'Argos Play sand' some time soon (Maybe tomorrow or Monday).
I understand that I can use a 2L fizzy drinks bottle to put the sand into the tank without causing the water to become cloudy... am I right in thinking this?

Also whilst I'm out, I will see if I can find the Household Ammonia from Homebase.

Not sure about how I'm going to decorate the tank yet, but I can decide that whilst it cycle's.

I hope this is less stressful than my last fish-in cycle

Just use your hands tbh its easier and quicker. Make sure you wash the sand first and then it will minimize the amount of cloudiness. I put 4 bags in my tank and it took around 254-48 hours to totally settle down but most of it went away within a few hours.

Okie doke. Fair enough.

I guess it doesn't matter too much cause I don't have any fish in the tank, so I can afford to have some cloudy water for a while.

Can't wait to start the cycle soon!

i got 2 bags of sand and cleaned it 5 times in a bucket and it took like 3-4 hours for most of it to settle and over night for it all to settle bit cloudy still but not to much should be clear overnight so should take 24-48 hours its good imo
