I have recently acquired my brothers 54L tank. As I am a beginner I am looking for the easier fish to have. There is already 1x Zebra Danio and 1x GLowlight tetra in the tank. It has been running for 2 years with these two fish in it for about 7 months.

Any suggestions about what fish would be best to add and when?

Thanks

You need to add some more Zebra Dainos and Glowlight Tetras as they like to school. Add like 3 each. Think about some Harlequin Rasboras or White clouds. They look nice and are hardy :good:

Picked up 5 Glowlight Tetras yesterday. Depending on tank test results I will then add 5 Danios. Means I will have 12 tiny friends and I was looking at either Corys or Platys or will that just over stock me. If it does I am not bothered. :)

to get a rough idea how many fish to have work to the " per gallon rule.

your tank is roughly 15 us gallons, so you can have roughly 15" of fish. now it's not set in stone, fairly obviously 1 fish that's 15" long isn't the same as 15 small fish each 1" long. But for small community fish uner a couple of inches it works ok.

so you currently have
6x glowlights - 6"
1x danio - 1"

so roughly half your total stocking.

you need to add more danio's as they like company so 5 more of those would take you up to 12"

so you've room for either a trio of the smaller cories or 1 slightly larger fish like a platy :good:
