My girfriend's mom of moving to Texas, so she went and bought a really nice 50 gallon wave tank with an emperor 400. Her mom has some swordtails, and neons, normal community fish, and 2 comet gold fish. I dont know if they can coexist but they seem to do well in her moms 55. Can these fish be alright together, any big deal?

the 2 are about 3-6"

Well swordtails and neons are tropical fish while goldfish are coldwater fish so their requirements are pretty different. Comets also get really big so they require a lot of space, I think 30 gallons is the recommended size for two. I'm not sure what you mean by "normal community fish". Also, how many of each type of fish (besides the goldfish, which you stated) are there? Certain types of fish prefer larger numbers than others.

comet goldies are essentially pond fish, not tank fish. i'd find them a new home in a pond, either a friends or your own if you have one. they could potentially get the munchies and eat any other small fish in your tank, goldies will eat anything that fits in their mouths! keeping them at tropical temperatures is potentially damaging to their health also.

as is keeping tropical fish at coldwater temperatures (i.e. with no heater)
