My boyfriend has a 55 gallon and wants to do a Chiefs themed tank (I know, I know, I have tried talking him out of it, I prefer a more natural looking tank but whatever). Just curious if anyone knows of any websites that sell this type of decor that's safe for the tank?

I wasn't sure about any paint or sealers used on the plastic so I didn't know if they would be okay. He really wants to put one of those mini helmets in there.

My idea was putting black sand in there and in the middle make something like a cookie cutter shaped like an arrowhead and fill it with white sand, get some small red rocks and put "KC" in the middle. He didn't seem impressed though, oh well less work for me lol.

I am as diehard a football (American, that is) fan as they come. For my 30th birthday, my wife hand painted an "Eagles" head on the wall for me - note the handle I'm using here. And, even I wouldn't think of an Eagles themed tank! That is great! Please post pics when it's all finished!

One piece of advice, perhaps adding things to the tank that are specifically "Chiefs" memorabilia will be more difficult, however, if you put a "fathead" type thing on the back of the tank as the background, with a bunch of red and white decorations, plus some "indian" type things... I'm not sure exactly what they would be, but I'm sure you could be creative.

As far as the helmet goes, if you coated it in silicone, it should be fine. (You might need to weigh it down in some way.) Also, you could add some rivals stuff in a less than complementary manner too. I'm sure some Raiders or Broncos stuff could be easy to find (Sunken pirate ships, etc.)

I figured someone would get a kick out of this "amazing" idea of his lol. It will definitely be different though. As far as the background goes he's already figured that out. Just going to get a black background and put some kind of chiefs sticker on it. Although he wants this to be chiefs themed he still wants the fish to stand out too. By the way he wants to get some roseline sharks, red and yellow stripes on them, to go along with it lol. I will have to talk more to him about what he wants to do, I think the rivals thing is pretty cool. I'm not a really creative person so the more opinions and ideas people offer the better.

How hard would it be to make the silicon smooth on the helmet or would it not show much even if there are some lines? I haven't done this before. I'm thinking I could silicon a rock or multiple rocks inside the helmet to make it sink.

He is a fan of the Eagles as well, big fan of Michael Vick (I can't stand him) and Desean Jackson. We are into fantasy football too, great stuff.

I'm not sure how to do the silicon. I just saw someone else recommend it to someone who wanted to use "action figures" in his tank.
