Hi All,

Great news I think....

I have been cycling for 3+ weeks lost count to be honest and now when i add ammonia to level 4ppm, within 24hrs its down to 1ppm. then top up to 4ppm, 24hrs later its down to 1ppm.

16/02 - 4ppm
17/02 - 1ppm ( top up to 4ppm)
18/02 - 1ppm

Please can you help me what to do next??

Thanks,

Dave

You need to wait till it drops 4 ppm to 0ppm in 12 hours not 24.

ok thanks, glad to know im getting there.

It's probably also time start testing nitrite - you also need that to drop to nil in 12 hours but nitrite isn't found until ammonia is processed

1.Do not add any more ammonia until it reads 0. You have been overdosing ammonia.
2. You are probably in for a huge nitrite spike that will be off the charts. You will likely need to do a water change to get it down.

Report your nitrite here as well as your nitrate reading.

nitrite went off the scale at the end of week 2,,, then a couple of days later it was 0.05 ppm

nitrite is still 0.05ppm and nitrate is about 5-10ppm
