So I have another thread going on and I was given advice to do a large water change to lower the ammonia level from .25ppm to 0ppm. A 40-50% water change was done and also the filters were rinsed and cleaned with tank water. I also put in beneficial bacteria in the filters because I am never convinced that some bacteria doesn't get washed away when I clean the filter. Now the aquarium water is slightly cloudy. It looks white cloudy. Is my tank going through a mini cycle? I tested the ammonia level it is between 0 and .25ppm and the nitrites are at 0ppm and the nitrates are at 0 as well. My tap water normally has .25ppm ammonia level. So can someone give me advice about what is going on?

Also to make matters worse I will be away for the weekend and will not be home to monitor my tank. Need some advice before I leave.

It's probably just a bacterial bloom. I wouldn't worry too much.

Don't feed today and leave all the lights off (and the fish unfed) over the weekend and everything should be okay when you get back.

If you can do another 50 or 60% water change (but leaving the filters alone this time) before you go, that would help too, but don't worry if you can't manage to fit it in.

Have a nice weekend away :)
