If I ever get little babies I'm expecting to get a 30 gallon aquarium for the growout. But anyway, I was planning on usuing it for a sorority when the males leave. How many spawn siblings can fit in there?

And anyway, so I ordered the fish and apparently I'm getting a free ct o_O Oh well, I'll get a tank for him. We're dividing the breeding tank for the two new ones and when the girlie is ready to breed and mr. has a bubblenest we can just take the divider away and jar her or something. Ares is in a new 2.5 tank.

thirty gallons is a good size, if you can get a thirty long they're cool too. You'd be amazed at how many spawn sisters you can keep in a thirty. Their behaviour is much different when they've lived together all their lives. But sometimes it's the girls who are the nippiest!
You'll be able to judge when the time comes. As long as you feed plenty and keep the water clean they should all grow evenly.

Good then, heh. I'll probably keep a few 2 or so gallon tanks around in case any of the females develope some nippiness, eh?

So here's my plan:
Okay, so, I get a divider for the ten gallon (which at the moment just had some horwort or hornwart or whatever) in a small pot with gravel..lmao, my temporary solution eh? Oh well, both the new plant and the older plant is doing very well. At the moment is is being oxygenated and filtered until the fishis come and at that time I will turn the filter off while the male builds a bubble net?
Anyway, when they are ready I remove the divider and allow the female to swim into his side of the tank (plenty of place to hide) and hopefully they breed, I remove the female into a 2-2.5 tank and treat her with medicine IF she had extensive damage, I always use salt anyways. Okay, so he takes care of them until they're free swimming, he goes into a temporary tank, the fry live from microworms and then pellets and frozen BW, the mommy and daddy go back into the divided 10 gallon and the babies are removed to the 30 gallon. My only question is, how old are they when I should do this? They live like this until the males get agressive, and at that point I will sell a few at my lfs, gradually auction them off on Aquabid and keep a few. Sounds okay?
